Happy Texas Twinkie Day!!

sampled around 2 pm

In the battle of Texas Twinkie Day, Roy's won the prize (from us, anyway).  Scott and I met there about 2 pm.  The line was short (maybe 10 folks in front of us) but there were even more waiting for to-go orders.  I got 9 twinkies for the price of 6 and Scott got his usual.  I polished off one and took the other 8 home for later.  I had a racquetball game at 4:30, otherwise I would have eaten 3.  :)  They are delicious.
Hopefully I will win their raffle and I can go get me a free twinkie every day for the next year!  I'll do it!

That's the first time I have gotten out of Roy's spending less than $50.  I'll be eating these bargains for the next 5 or 6 days.

Roy's posted on their Facebook page that they were sold out of twinkies by 6:30 pm.  Happy Texas Twinkie Day!

That ain't BBQ!

sampled 10/7/25

Yeah, you right, but it sure is good!  My Mrs came home with 6 salmon fillets totaling over 19 and a half pounds.  As usual, we had to cut them in half to fit our little bullet smoker.  Other than a quick rinse-off, that's all we had to do.  Just throw them in the smoker for 2 hours, then enjoy.

Get ready to celebrate Texas Twinkie Day October 16

Both versions of Hutchins BBQ will be celebrating Texas Twinkie Day on October 16.  Roy Hutchins is offering buy 2, get one free (while supplies last) at their Trophy Club location.  Plus, they are holding a raffle for one year of free twinkies for 3 lucky winners.
Hutchins BBQ in McKinney and Frisco will also be celebrating.  They will have $4 twinkies with a limit of 4 and will be raffling off a bunch of goodies between 5 and 8:30 pm.   T-shirts, cowboys tickets, boots, and Hutchins gift certificates will be in the raffle.
