The usual amazing meats from Green's. Those pork belly bites melt in your mouth.
Adventures in Texas barbecue. Want to stop the swine flu? Barbecue a pig! And remember, lettuce or spinach can kill you.
Replaced by a Halal market.
Back in the day, this was the spot with the best ribs I have ever eaten. It was never the same after Hubert Green passed away.

We had a friend in town who wanted some BBQ so we took a trip down to Hurtado in Arlington. The street in front of the restaurant was closed for construction but we found a parking spot nearby and wound our way around the barriers and into the joint. The construction must be impacting their business as there were only two folks in line in front of us. That's too bad, because the food was excellent, as always. The brisket and ribs were perfectly smoked and the stuffed jalapenos were outstanding. The casing on the sausage was a bit chewy and there didn't seem to be much spice in the jalapeno sausage. I grabbed some extra brisket and Texas twinkies to go.
Stopped by this place about 2:15 on a Saturday afternoon and they still had the Texas Trinity left. Timing is everything. The ribs were excellent, very tender, and moist with a perfect bite mark. The brisket was also perfectly cooked, very tender, and moist with the fat melting in my mouth. The jalapeno sausage was pretty average with no hint of jalapeno flavor or spice. Sadly, there was no smoke flavor in any of the meats. They did give us a very generous portion of meats, a lot more than you get on most 3 meat plates. We stuck with mac and cheese for our side and found it tasty with a bit of added brisket. The ribs were good enough we bought a full rack to deliver to a friend later that evening. He was very happy.
As we finished our meal a short line had formed and the SOLD OUT was brought out and set up outside. Yup, timing is everything.
Meat up for a good cause and maybe win some MEAT!
Note: Scott went to this and won a whole brisket from Meat Church!
Another excellent meal from Dayne's. To the Texas Trinity I added a quarter pound of pork belly brisket and an extra sausage. They had two types of sausage, Beefy Texan and Jalapeno Havarti. Both were excellent!
70 degree temperatures in January and salmon on sale for $4.79/lb will tend to lead to some might good eating.
